I've always heard XX referred to as a port. I can't speak for the game (considering I never got far enough in XX to call myself an expert and haven't played more than a level of Rondo at a convention), but I always found the soundtracks rather similar. The place for all your gaming needs 149k.

Well, not the $100+ cost of hunting down a real copy of the game and the console. Just google Rondo of blood patch and the first page is littered with forum posts on where to find them and how to patch it if not the patched version. In the worst case scenario, I'll have to play the game on my computer without sound and have the soundtrack CD playing on my stereo, which will no doubt prove a schizophonic aural experience, but I want to avoid that at any cost. If anyone could help, I'd be most grateful.

What's wrong? Can't Magic Engine handle the game's audio? Or have I commited some error in the process of burning? I searched around for info on this matter, and read that you get audio in some CD games where it's missing if you load the game using the "System Card 3.0" option, but I've tried that and the only result was that there still was no music, and it was impossible to get past the title screen (the screen goes black and nothing else happens). Konami release Rondo of Blood (the original Japanese version but maybe with the English voices from the rerelease of the PSP and the original Symphony of the Night in a collection with these and we will talk as it stands right now too expensive. But I know the music is on there: I burned the CD using the accompanying ".cue"-file, and I've tried burning it with the music in both mp3 and wav format. Needless to say, this sucks - there's no need to describe the dull experience of playing a Castlevania game without music (and no puns regarding CV64's soundtrack, please!). I heard that it works perfectly with the Magic Engine emulator (currently using version 0.99b3), and indeed, the game seems to run almost perfectly, but with one fatal flaw: no music! I get the sound effects, but none of the redbook CD audio. I downloaded the "Dracula X" (PC Engine) ISO that's floating around on the VGM Central DC hub, and burned it to a CD.
